The roasters around Helena
Fire Tower Coffee House and Roasters roasts organic beans in house at 422 North Last Chance Gulch, and Nord Johnson has owned it since 2013. Montago Coffee first poured drinks in 2019 from a restored 1958 Shasta camper and now runs a cafe in the Independent Building downtown.
Out in East Helena, Galaxy Roasting started roasting in 2001 because the family wanted more say over the coffee at The Bagel Company in Helena. In Clancy, Montana Maid Coffee Roasters began at a weekend farmers market and names each of its blends for a Montana river.
