You choose a roast, and every 2 or 4 weeks an independent Montana roaster roasts a 12 oz bag to order and ships it to you in their own bag. The roaster changes with each box. It costs $16.99 a bag, any roast. Your first bag is free and you pay $7.99 shipping on that first box. Skip, pause or cancel online.
It works the same for a kitchen in Kalispell as for an apartment two time zones away. We ship anywhere in the US.

From the first click to the box on your step
- Build your box on the plan builder. Pick a roast level, a style, whole bean or ground, and one bag or two. If you are not sure what you like, three quick questions set the roast and style for you.
- Choose every 2 or 4 weeks and check out. The first bag in box one is free. You pay $7.99 shipping for that box.
- A reminder email comes 3 days before each box. That is your window to skip it or pause.
- The roaster roasts your coffee to order and ships it straight from the roastery, in their own bag, within 3 days.
- In the box you find our packing slip. It names the roaster and their shop, tells a little of their story, and says what to taste for.
- You rate the bag. That rating goes into picking the next one.
Who roasts it
Independent roasters in Montana. The Roast Local directory lists 47 of them (September 2026), and we write up local favorites on the Montana roasters page: Montana Coffee Traders in an old farmhouse south of Whitefish, Hunter Bay in Lolo at the mouth of the Bitterroot, Rock Creek in its shop on North Broadway in Billings. A listing does not mean the roaster is part of the club. The tests we use are on the sourcing page.
Buying this way keeps your coffee money with a Montana roastery and the people it pays, and the bag makes a short trip from roaster to door. That is the reason the club exists. More on it: why local roasters matter.
When a bag misses
You get a free replacement. Tell us the bag disappointed and we send a different coffee. Your rating of that bag also steers what comes next, so a miss makes the following box a better fit.
The club makes four promises on every box:
- Roasted and shipped within 3 days.
- Free replacement if a bag disappoints.
- A reminder email 3 days before each box.
- Your ratings steer the next bag.
Skipping, pausing and cancelling
All three happen online, any time before the next box is roasted. Every email we send carries the links. Heading to elk camp for two weeks? Skip a box. Gone for the summer? Pause until you are back.
Nothing ships by surprise, because the reminder lands 3 days before each box.

Do you ship outside Montana?
Yes, anywhere in the US. The coffee is roasted in Montana and shipped from the roaster to wherever you live.
