Their story
Ursa describes itself as a specialty roaster supplying fresh coffee to buyers in Montana and farther away. The lineup is short: one light, one medium and one dark roast plus an espresso, each sold in 12 ounce bags or 5 pound bags, whole bean or ground. Ursa calls its medium roast the flagship. It blends coffees from Guatemala, Brazil and Colombia and is described as smooth enough to drink all day, with caramel and butter notes.
The light roast uses only Brazilian beans and is pitched as crisp, with citrus up front and a graham cracker finish. For the dark roast Ursa uses straight Colombian beans, roasted for a smoky cup that ends on molasses. The espresso is an even split of Brazilian and Colombian coffee, described as nutty at first with a chocolate finish.

Roast levels run Light Roast, Medium Roast and Dark Roast. House blends include Medium Roast (Guatemala, Brazil, Colombia). Single origins on the list when we checked: Light Roast (100% Brazil) and Dark Roast (100% Colombia). Espresso: Espresso (Brazil and Colombia, 50/50).
