Their story
Blue Bean picks each green coffee by season and farming practice, buying some lots directly and the rest through established importers. Each order is roasted when it comes in, 5 to 10 pounds at a time, on a Diedrich machine. New coffees are tasted over and over by experts, longtime drinkers and even neighbors before they go on sale.
Several blends are named for Montana outdoor spots. Blue Lake nods to a hike of about ten miles round trip, and others carry names like Trail Creek, Bangtail, Crooked Creek and Lost Lake. Black and Tan pairs a light roasted Central American coffee with a dark roasted African one. The Hell Roaring Espresso Blend is certified organic, and the decaf is an organic Honduran. Fundraising groups can add their own logo or message to the bags, with a 50 bag minimum, and the company cites more than ten years of fundraising work.

House blends include Blue Lake, Trail Creek Blend, Lost Lake Blend, Bangtail Blend, Crooked Creek Blend, Black and Tan, Sumatra Blend, Glenn's Ranchers Morning Blend and Cold Brew Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Colombian, Brazilian and Peruvian. Espresso: Blue Bean Espresso; Hell Roaring Espresso Blend (organic). Decaf: Organic Honduran Decaf.
