Their story
Bates Beanery is a small family-owned, women-led roaster and bakery in Missoula working with organic, fair trade certified beans. The business later added sourdough bread and seasonal baked goods to its coffee. The Porch Store is closed until the fall, but online orders still go out for pickup or for delivery within Missoula.
The coffees carry playful names. Walking on Sunshine is the light roast, Clouds in My Coffee the medium, and Rolling in the Deep the dark, all organic and roasted in small batches. Besides coffee, the online shop sells sourdough sandwich loaves, mini loaves, apple butter and cake pops, and it ships coffee and baked goods as well as delivering locally.

The owners, who call themselves the Coffee Ladies, also sell in person at vintage markets such as Prairie Sisters Vintage Market and Little Red Truck Vintage Market.
