Ghost Town Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Montana: an independent roaster based in Bozeman, founded in 2006. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Ghost Town Coffee Roasters was founded in 2006 in Bozeman, and wholesale distribution has always been the core of its business. It roasts specialty coffee from around the world and says it buys with social, economic and farming responsibility in mind, supporting all forms of equitably traded coffee. The company is a certified organic handler through the Montana Department of Agriculture.
Beyond roasting, it supplies coffee shops, restaurants, grocers, offices and hotels, distributes syrups, chocolate, tea and small wares, and offers certified barista training. An affiliate, Lamplighter Cafe Services, sells and repairs espresso equipment. All roasting and wholesale production happens at its Bridger Center facility in Bozeman, which also has a cafe and an in-house bakery. Its current list runs to more than a dozen blends, among them 1889, Homestead, Drinking Horse and a Bourbon Barrel coffee, with an Emerald Espresso and decafs, plus single origins from Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Ethiopia.

House blends include 1889, Alpine, Homestead, Drinking Horse Blend, Bourbon Barrel, Marla Joy Blend, Chief Joseph Allegro (medium), Chief Joseph Presto (dark) and Dog Days (summer seasonal). Single origins on the list when we checked: Colombia Caramanta, Colombia Mikilillo Caturra Chiroso, Colombia Mist Gesha, Costa Rica Tarrazu, El Salvador La Providencia, Ethiopia Guji, natural, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Edido and Rwanda Sholi Cooperative, washed. The Bridger Center building holds the roastery, wholesale production and a cafe. Two more cafes are downtown.
