The short verdict
Last Best Coffee Club publishes this page and runs a competing club. Every fact about the other service was read on its own site on the date shown; read the comparison with that in mind.
Atlas Coffee Club suits someone who wants to taste a different coffee growing country each month, with a postcard and a page of coffee history in the box. Last Best Coffee Club suits someone who wants to taste Montana: every bag from a different independent Montana roaster, roasted to order and shipped by that roaster. In this Atlas Coffee Club review both get the same fields. Last Best Coffee Club publishes this page, and we have no connection to Atlas.

Where Atlas is stronger
The world on a map. Atlas's whole idea is a new coffee from a new country each month, and its coffee page shows past coffees from Costa Rica, Ethiopia, India and Colombia. If you want to learn how an Ethiopian natural differs from a washed Colombian, a country a month is a direct way to do it. Our club's bags come from Montana roasters, and the origins inside them are whatever those roasters choose.
Something to read. Each Atlas box carries a postcard from that month's country and tasting notes and coffee history for the coffee. Our packing slip covers the Montana roaster, their shop, their story and what to taste for, and there is no postcard.
More sizes and formats. Atlas lists a 6 oz bag for light drinkers, 2 lb and 5 lb bulk bags for heavy ones, and pod subscriptions. We sell one bag size, 12 oz, whole bean or ground, and no pods.
Reach. Atlas ships to Canada as well as the US, at $4.95 a shipment by its own first-bag page. We ship within the US only.
A money back guarantee. Atlas offers 30 days to get your money back if you do not love the coffee. Our promise is a free replacement bag if one disappoints.
Longer gifts. Atlas's gift listings run to 24 months, twice our longest gift.
Where Last Best differs
Montana roasters, each one different. Atlas roasts its own coffee. We send a bag from a different independent Montana roaster in every box: a Bozeman roastery that began as a food truck, a Missoula roaster that sources only certified organic coffee, a Whitefish roastery in a farmhouse with a chuck wagon out front. Montana has 57 independent roasters by the Roast Local count, and the club exists to put your coffee money in their hands.
Roasted and shipped by the roaster. Each Montana roaster roasts your bag to order and ships it in their own bag and packaging, with our packing slip inside. Our first promise is "Roasted and shipped within 3 days."
You choose the roast and the style. Atlas's plan builder asks about your brew method and roast. Ours sets the roast level (light, medium, dark or mix it up) and the style (single origin, blends, espresso-friendly or decaf), and a box can carry two bags from two Montana roasters with different settings for each: a light single origin for one of you and a dark espresso for the other.
One posted price. $16.99 a 12 oz bag, any roast. First bag free, you pay $7.99 shipping. Light, dark, single origin, espresso or decaf, the bag price is the same.
Our four promises, word for word: "Roasted and shipped within 3 days." "Free replacement if a bag disappoints." "A reminder email 3 days before each box." "Your ratings steer the next bag." More on why buying from Montana roasters matters.
Atlas Coffee Club questions
Which is better, Atlas or Trade?
Neither wins on every count: Atlas sends one single origin from a new country each month from a single company, while Trade offers far more coffees and roasters and lets you pick, so choose by which of those you want.
How much is Atlas Coffee Club per bag?
On September 27, 2026 Atlas's own first-bag page put its plan at $16 a bag for two 12 oz bags a shipment after a 28-day free first bag, plus $4.95 shipping a shipment; single-bag plans listed at $17 and $20. Atlas runs many discounts, so the price at its checkout moves with the offer.
Is Atlas Coffee Club roasted in Montana?
No. Atlas describes itself as a roaster and sends coffee from a new country each month; none of it is roasted in Montana. Last Best Coffee Club sends a bag from a different independent Montana roaster in every box.
Can I cancel Atlas Coffee Club anytime?
Atlas says you can pause, skip or cancel anytime, and its terms ask for 24 hours notice before cancelling. Our club lets you skip, pause or cancel online, and sends a reminder email 3 days before each box.
